Camino a Santiago «The Origin»

The name of this road to Santiago, “el Origen”, is based on the story of the Apostle's arrival in Galicia from the Holy Land. It tells that the body of Santiago el Mayor was brought from Palestine by his disciples Teodoro and Atanasio in a stone boat and his journey ended by sailing upstream through the Ría de Arousa and the Ulla River.

Today, the route of the Camino of more than 120 km begins at the Corrubedo Lighthouse and, through 5 stages that run through the municipalities of Ribeira, A Pobra, Boiro, Rianxo, Dodro and Padrón, it reaches Iria Flavia where it connects with the Portuguese Way to end at Praza do Obradoiro, near the Cathedral.
